Principal
My name is Alice Vera and I am privileged to be a member of such a wonderful staff and community of learners. I have been a formal educator for approximately 21 years. My roles included that of a classroom teacher, lead teacher, assistant principal, management support director, acting and interim principal. I have been a member of the José de Diego community, as principal, for approximately 6 years.
I have degrees in elementary education, curriculum and instruction, bilingual education, special education and educational administration.
I am the proud mother of three beautiful children, Ricky, Adriana and Mariana. I am a very proud grandmother to my first grandchild, Dennis. I learn something new from him every day. I have a great husband, Javier, whom actually has become an “honorary” member of our school community. My family is very important to me. I love to travel with them and spend time with them. I love to read!
I am a true believer in lifelong teaching and learning. Each day I learn something new from students, parents, staff members and community members. I take what I have learned and share/teach it to others. What a great way to learn!
